Shade of Dynamism
"The shopping mall reconsidered as an open spatial system — where circulation becomes the primary generator of experience."
- Circulation as the primary spatial generator across a multi-level retail framework
- Atriums and visual corridors maintaining continuity and legibility across levels
- Open, social retail environment with natural light and environmental integration
CONCEPTUAL
FRAMEWORK.
Proposed in Sector 50, Noida, the project reconsiders the shopping mall as an open and interactive spatial system rather than a closed retail container. The design is organized through a multi-level framework where circulation becomes the primary generator — allowing movement to unfold as a continuous and legible experience.
Atriums, visual corridors, and layered connections are introduced to maintain spatial continuity across levels, encouraging exploration while retaining clarity in navigation. The project shifts away from inward-looking retail environments, establishing a dialogue between interior and exterior conditions.
Conceived as a social as well as commercial space, the mall offers varied spatial experiences that allow users to engage, pause, and move freely without confinement. Natural light, environmental strategies, and material restraint are integrated to support a responsive and contemporary retail environment.
